Increased Support for Small and Medium-sized Businesses
Enterprise Minister, Jim Mather today announced that the Scottish Government has extended coverage of Tier 3 RSA type assistance to the whole of Scotland (outwith Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas).

Government Support for Glasgow Jobs Expansion
Finance Secretary John Swinney today welcomed the creation of 100 new jobs at Glasgow-based BiP Solutions. On a visit to the company's new pemises at Pacific Quay, Mr Swinney announceded that an £800,000 RSA grant would help the company with its expansion.

Grants to Support Job Creation
Enterprise Minister, Jim Mather today announced the publication of the latest
RSA quarterly report (PDF, 70kb) detailing RSA accepted offers during the 3 months between July and September 2008. During this period, 25 businesses accepted offer of RSA totalling over £8m for projects plan to create and safeguard over 1,000 jobs.

Grants to Support Job Creation
Around 2,000 Scottish jobs are to be created or safeguarded with the help of Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) grants. Enterprise Minister, Jim Mather announced the publication of the latest
RSA Quarterly Report (PDF, 85Kb) detailing accepted RSA offers in the three months from April to June 2008. During this period 25 businesses in Scotland accepted RSA grant offers totalling over £13.5 million. Read the full press release here (PDF, 73Kb)
RSA Support for Financial Services
Around 2,500 financial services jobs are to be created with the help of the Scottish Government said the Finance Secretary, John Swinney after today's Global Financial Services Business Breakfast in Dundee. He made the statement following the publication of the
RSA Annual Summary (PDF, 94KB), which showed that 164 businesses accepted RSA offers totalling over £87 million in the last financial year.

Mather Toasts Whisky Venture
Whisky production at the disused Annandale Distillery in Dumfires and Galloway is to be revived for the first time in 90 years. Jim Mather, Enterprise, Energy and Tourism Minister today announced that Annandale Distillery Company Ltd, with the aid of a £150,000 RSA grant, plan to invest £4m in the project which is expected to lead to the creation of 18 new jobs.
Annandale Distillery Company Ltd is one of 24 companies to accept an RSA offer in the 3 months between January to March 2008. Details of all these awards are published in the latest
RSA quarterly report (PDF, 84Kb). The report shows that these companies accepted RSA offers totalling over £4m.

The results of the evaluation research project to assess the impact of the RSA scheme in Scotland over the period 2000 to 2004 are now available.
